Despite taking its own direction, these three games together tell one of the best and most compelling stories from a gaming trilogy in quite some time, with each game contributing its own piece to the puzzle of such a great narrative. This is a truly remarkable, if somewhat uneven, trilogy of games.As the final entry in the trilogy, BioShock Infinite is a beautiful example of how the series has grown when compared to the first game which launched six years prior. But if Switch is your only option and you still haven't experience this series, you owe it to yourself to play them. It's cheaper on PS4 and is a much better-looking and more performant version. It's okay, nobody's going to know.īioShock: The Collection is best played on more powerful hardware like a PC or the other current-gen consoles, especially if you're planning to play them on your TV. And since there's no trophies, there's very little reason not to turn down the difficulty to make the experience smoother. The BioShock games are not known for high-speed action, so you'll be just find relying on the Switch sticks for aiming. One thing notably absent is the motion controls that were found in the Borderlands collection on Switch, but given its shoddy implementation in that game, it might actually be a good thing. ![]() These games look excellent in both docked and handheld mode and have carried over some of the heavier visual features like screen space reflections, dynamic shadows, and physics. ![]() However, the relatively slow pace of the action is unscathed by the lower framerate, and the graphical conversion is clean enough to justify the hit. So what's the difference compared to other platforms? For one thing the collection is locked at 30 frames per second, compared to the 60 frames on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. ![]()
